The case-site ranking and the promo-code list used to live on two separate pages. This month they are one: the platform you pick and the code you enter decide the same first deposit, so we answer both in one place.
Quick answer
For October 2026 our first pick is Key-Drop with code LOOT: a 20% deposit bonus plus $0.50 you can use before paying anything, and the fastest skin delivery to Steam we measured. If you only want a no-deposit start, CaseHug with LOOT20 gives the largest free balance at $1.00. Every code on this page was last confirmed on our test accounts on September 18, 2026.
This is a monthly edition, not a fresh round of numbers. The codes, offers and payout times below are the ones our test accounts recorded in the cycle that closed on September 18, 2026. We would rather print that date next to every figure than relabel September data as October data. When the next cycle is logged, the "last verified" date at the top changes with it.
What did change is the shape. Readers kept opening our case-site ranking and our promo-code list side by side, because the questions are really one question: which platform deserves your first deposit, and what do you type into it so that deposit is worth more. So this edition ranks the seven platforms once, puts the logo, code, offer type and payout time on the same card, and then explains how to redeem, what the odds are and how long a withdrawal really takes.
One thing has not changed: placement is not for sale. The links on this page are affiliate links and pay for the testing, but the order is set by the criteria in the method section, and a platform that slips on payouts drops in the next edition regardless of what it pays us.
Each card shows the platform logo, the code we use, what the code unlocks, whether you need to deposit to get anything, and the skin-delivery time we clocked. Pros and cons are from our own sessions, not from the platforms' marketing pages.

Payout times are the median of our September 2026 withdrawals of a $5–$15 skin. "—" means the platform does not publish that detail and we have not been able to confirm it.
| # | Platform | Promo code | What the code gives | Skin to Steam | Min. deposit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | LOOT | 20% deposit bonus + $0.50 free | < 60 s | $2.00 | |
| 2 | LOOT20 | $1.00 free + 20% first deposit bonus | 1–5 min | $1.00 | |
| 3 | LOOT20 | 10% deposit bonus + a free case | 1–10 min | $1.00 | |
| 4 | LOOT | $1 free + daily rewards | 2–8 min | $1.00 | |
| 5 | LOOT20 | $5 free balance | 5–15 min | $1.00 | |
| 6 | LOOT20 | $0.50 free + daily rewards | 3–10 min | $1.00 | |
| 7 | LOOT20 | 5% deposit bonus + free daily cases | 1–5 min | $1.00 |
Seven codes, seven platforms. The same string can mean different things on different sites — LOOT20 is a $1.00 free credit on CaseHug but a free case on Hellcase — so read the offer next to the code, not just the code.
The order matters more than people expect. Most failed redemptions we see come from typing the code after the first deposit, when the welcome offer is no longer available.
One welcome code per account. Creating a second account to reuse a code breaks every platform's terms and is the usual reason a payout gets frozen.
A bonus gives you more openings; it does not change the chance of any single opening. Valve publishes the rarity odds for its standard weapon cases, and they are the honest baseline for any case you open, on Steam or elsewhere.
| Rarity tier | Colour | Chance per opening | Average openings per hit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mil-Spec | Blue | 79.92% | 1.3 |
| Restricted | Purple | 15.98% | 6.3 |
| Classified | Pink | 3.20% | 31 |
| Covert | Red | 0.64% | 156 |
| Rare Special (Knife or gloves) | Gold | 0.26% | 385 |
Third-party sites build their own cases, so their odds differ case by case. Each platform on this list shows per-item odds before you open; compare them against this table. A case where the expensive item sits well below 1% is a lottery ticket, not a strategy.
We measure from the withdrawal click to the moment the skin is in our Steam inventory, using one $5–$15 skin per platform per cycle.
| Platform | Skin to Steam | Minimum deposit |
|---|---|---|
| < 60 s | $2.00 | |
| 1–5 min | $1.00 | |
| 1–10 min | $1.00 | |
| 2–8 min | $1.00 | |
| 5–15 min | $1.00 | |
| 3–10 min | $1.00 | |
| 1–5 min | $1.00 |
Steam can add its own hold on top of the platform's speed. If your account has had Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator for less than seven days, incoming trades can be held for up to 15 days — no case site can shorten that, so set up the authenticator before your first withdrawal.
Every platform gets the same routine on a fresh Steam account. We publish the routine because a ranking you cannot reproduce is just an opinion.
One new account per platform, a $10 deposit, the code applied at the point the platform asks for it, five case openings and one skin withdrawn to Steam. We record whether the bonus credited, how long it took, and how long the skin took to arrive.
Payout reliability and published offer terms weigh the most, followed by fairness that a reader can check (a seed or hash you can verify yourself), operating history and how disputes are handled. Bonus size comes after all of these.
We do not print return-to-player percentages that platforms do not publish, and we do not list codes we could not redeem ourselves. If a figure cannot be traced to our test log or to a public source, it is not on this page.
We rank Key-Drop first even though it asks for the highest minimum deposit. In our sessions, a skin that arrives in under a minute and a bonus with both a free part and a deposit part are worth more than a lower entry price. If you never plan to deposit, CaseHug is the better start, and we say so on its card.
Our October pick is Key-Drop. In the September 2026 test cycle it delivered skins to Steam in under 60 seconds, and code LOOT gives both $0.50 before any payment and a 20% deposit bonus. Its one drawback is the $2.00 minimum deposit.
For most players, LOOT on Key-Drop, because it has a free part and a deposit part. If you want the largest no-deposit credit instead, LOOT20 on CaseHug gives $1.00 free. Both were confirmed on our accounts on September 18, 2026.
Yes. Entering a code costs nothing, and four of the seven codes give something before you pay: free balance, a free case or daily rewards. The deposit bonuses only apply when you choose to deposit, and you never need to.
LOOT and LOOT20 are our partner codes, and each platform attaches its own offer to them. That is why the offer column matters: LOOT20 is $1.00 free on CaseHug, a free case on Hellcase and $5 of free balance on CSGOSkins.
No. A code adds balance, which buys more openings, but each opening keeps the same odds. On Valve's standard cases a knife or gloves come up about 0.26% of the time, roughly once every 385 openings.
It combines our case-site ranking and our promo-code list into one monthly edition, with the verification date printed next to the data. The underlying test routine is the same one described in our methodology, so the platforms are scored the same way everywhere on CS2REF.
Figures on this page come from our own test log or from the public sources below.
