About
Marcus Holt is a gaming analyst with over 7 years of experience covering Counter-Strike skin economies, third-party platform mechanics, and RTP methodologies. He has personally tested over 40 CS2 case opening platforms since 2018, with a focus on provably fair implementation, withdrawal reliability, and real deposit-to-return ratios.
At CS2REF, Marcus leads the weekly platform testing protocol — creating a fresh account on each platform, depositing $10 via Bitcoin, activating the promo code, opening 5 cases, and recording the exact withdrawal time to Steam. His data forms the factual backbone of cs2ref.com's rankings.
Marcus brings a background in statistics and applies probability theory to evaluate house edge and expected value across case opening platforms. He has been cited in community discussions on r/cs2 and r/GlobalOffensiveTrade for his RTP breakdowns by case tier.

How CS2REF authorship and review work
- 1Check the stated scope: which platforms and which criteria this author is accountable for.
- 2Look for the date on each review. An author page without dates is a claim, not a record.
- 3Compare the author score against the independent score shown beside it.
- 4Treat authorship as traceability, not as a guarantee about a third-party platform.
